A life-size Porsche in white chocolate and Swarovski crystal, for a Guinness World Record.
To mark the occasion of the “Eurochocolate Ski” event held in the splendid setting of Cortina d’Ampezzo from 16 to 19 December 2010, the prestigious Franz Kraler multibrand designer store exclusively hosted a remarkable world record attempt.
But what did that entail?
Over the span of 48 hours, master chocolatier Mirco della Vecchia – Italy’s outright patisserie champion who is famous for his Guinness World Record creations – recreated N. Technology’s Porsche Panamera S in white chocolate and Swarovski crystal, in the little piazza outside the Franz Kraler store (www.franzkraler.com) on Corso Italia, in the heart of Cortina.
This eye-catching collaboration between Della Vecchia and the N. Technology racing team celebrated a season rich in success: four victories, plus a third and a ninth place finish, three pole positions (out of three), and three fastest lap times, extremely encouraging results for the debut “Superstars Series” season with the Porsche Panamera S.
Driver Fabrizio Giovanardi and the Porsche Panamera S achieved podium finishes on numerous occasions, the car proving itself competitive and reliable throughout the season with wins at Mugello and the Circuit Paul Ricard.
It was with great pleasure that the chocolate sculpture was unveiled in the historic piazza in front of the Franz Kraler store. A true one-off, the chocolate creation was a world-record beater (just seven tonnes in total!) that combined all of the drive for excellence, artistry, originality and exclusivity of the different parties involved. These included Swarovski, whose judiciously arranged crystals provided the detailing, a touch of class to finish the world’s first, and only, chocolate Porsche Panamera S.
